Environmentally Speaking Big Rock sells only wood products that have been certified as having been responsibly harvested from well-managed forests that adhere to strict environmental and socio-economic standards.
None of the timber we sell is from endangered wood species.
The standards we follow are in accordance with the principles and criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). These certification efforts between environmentalists and foresters:
- improve forestry practices
- protect natural wildlife habitats
- ensure sustainable natural resources
- maintain healthier forests, and
- promote long term viability for future renewable resources
